Parents are the primary teachers of their children as they prepare them to receive the Sacraments. As part of the School of Religion, we complement and assist our parents in preparing our children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. For those who were not baptized as infants, we have a Rite of Christian Initiation for Children program as well.
For each Sacrament, parents and children attend workshops and retreats. We support them in the classroom throughout the year as we teach the basics of our faith. Each child who seeks to receive a Sacrament attends School of Religion.
We prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the Fall. Also known as First Penance, we celebrate this sacrament here at Holy Name. In 2007, it will take place on November 13 at 7pm. Pick up a registration form the pamphlet racks at the entrance to Church.
We celebrate First Eucharist during Easter season. Also known as First Communion, we begin preparing for this sacrament in early Spring. Each candidate must have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation to be eligible.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in alternate years. This year, preparation begins in mid October and we will celebrate the sacrament on January 15, 2008 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Click
